Multi- instrumentalist and songwriter, Nick Norton, has performed, written and recorded with a multitude of artists over the last 25 years. Since 2023, Nick has been vocalist for Australian rock icons, The Angels. Previously the band's drummer (since 2011), Nick graduated to frontman, a natural fit. 2024 saw the release of The Angels first new album in a decade, "Ninety Nine", Nick featuring as a key songwriter. He also contributed a slew of songs to the previous two Angels albums, "Talk The Talk" (2014) and "Take It To The Streets" (2012). Outside life in The Angels, Nick has been a working musician, based in Sydney, for well over two decades, notching up thousands of gigs as a freelance guitarist, vocalist and drummer. GangAwry was Nick's first key musical project, a band with which, as chief songwriter, he signed publishing and record deals with world famous producer, Harry Vanda's Flashpoint Music. This included countless hours writing and recording inside the hallowed halls of Albert Studio, HQ of the legendary Australian record company, Alberts - original home of AC/DC, The Angels and other musical luminaries. Past projects include seminal Australian songwriters, Brewster Brothers, with Nick as sideman, playing widely on the national circuit. Nick recorded on the albums "Play Bob Dylan" (2010) and "Live at Lizottes" (2012), during a fertile period for the act. On top of recording duties with the aforementioned artists, other sessions have included laying down funk guitar and bass for renowned Deep House music acts, Random Soul, Husky and Yogi. As bandleader, under his own moniker, Nick pursues a unique creative route, performing as guitarist/ vocalist with some of Australia’s finest jazz/ groove musicians "Nick Norton lays down heavy duty street funk & soul songcraft, dappled with jazz rock inflections.
